On Valentine's Day this year, Jenn had the opportunity to photograph Eddie Cotton's homecoming performance in Vicksburg, Mississippi at the Ameristar Casino!
This was Eddie's first performance at home since his huge first place win at IBC 2015.
Shirley Waring presented each band member with a personalized plaque, and it was the first time ever that Jenn had the chance to photograph something like that!
Jenn also got to meet the Executive Director for the King Biscuit Blues Festival, Linda Broome!
The dBlues team enjoyed Eddie's winning performance at IBC, and so did others! Here are some words about his win:
"Eddie Cotton, the band representative from the Vicksburg Blues Society, took top honors at this year’s International Blues Challenge. It is the second year in a row the representative from the Vicksburg Blues Society won the band portion of the IBC, following a win by Mr. Sipp the Mississippi Blues Child in 2014.
Winners receive cash prizes, top gigs, enhanced publicity and inclusion in an exclusive class of Blues performers. There were more than 250 acts in total competing, this year; and everyone was a winner just by making it through their local competition to ear the trip to Memphis." -Full-Time Blues Radio
"Eddie Cotton locked in the first place band position, effortlessly controlling the crowd with his amazing showmanship and some of the most innovative B.B. King-influenced licks in years." -American Blues Scene
